Paying
Duke University Police Department enforces parking regulations by issuing parking citations to vehicles found in violation. Vehicles parked on campus must be in one marked space at all times. Vehicles must also be registered with Parking and Transportation Services and must properly display a valid permit for the appropriate space when parking from 7 a.m. through 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding Campus Holidays.
Certain spaces throughout campus are reserved 24 hours, seven days a week, including Campus Holidays. At all times the appropriate permit for the reserved space/area/lot must be displayed on the vehicle. Vehicles parked in reserved spaces without the proper permit will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
If you’ve received a ticket from Duke, there are several options for paying your fine:
- Duke staff, students and visitors may pay on-line with a credit card;
- Pay at the Parking and Transportation Services at 0100 Facilities Center on Coal Pile Drive;
- Mail the ticket and a check with the envelope supplied along with the ticket
If a ticket is not paid within 15 days, the charge will automatically be placed on a student’s account or deducted from an employee’s next paycheck.
